Hypocrisy Run Rampant

...do you hear him, this great divider, this committed socialist, this perpetrator of immeasurable harm to our nation's economy, pride and leadership-, its citizens! He is back on the campaign stomp advising we must disregard all the dissension and misdirection his administration has wrought on this Republic of ours these past, near five years and reinvest in his vision of the America to be (reinvest, his code word for tax more spent more!). His hypocrisy cup runneth over! He has indeed lent a new dimension to the deniability gamut. Does he honestly believe like the rest of us he has been but a chagrined spectator to his own impropriety as President of the United States!? The polls certainly would lead him to believe he is above the fray with his popularity unwavering while the results of his governing highly suspect and generally abhorred. He certainly is the Poster-boy for this age of celebrity is he not: a mile wide and an 1/8 of an inch deep! As I once said here before like Sancho, fumbling stumbling Don Quixote's faithful squire's retort to those who questioned his loyalty.."but I like him". What a sad analogy for the President of the United States!

Detroit Bankrupt?

Detroit the liberal Democrat's shining Emerald City, unspoiled by those deterring  conservative Republican slants, a bastion of union lead socialism, the model of what could be if liberalism, socialism prevailed through out the nation.Tell me it isn't so!

So goes Detroit, so goes the United States of America was foretold by the Democrat Party pundits. In reality-,ain't it the truth! How many more examples do we need, this one in our own backyard, to tell us collectivism, socialism, communism and all of it's infinite variations on excessive government intervention in the workings of a society  doesn't work! Government control has never, will never trump individual freedom and enterprise of a true democracy. A society dominated by takers as opposed to makers is doomed to drown in its own social and bureaucratic excesses! The solution? In Detroit's case, but one: it's Obama to the rescue!  After all isn't it just another "money shortage" to deal with in his peerless inimitable fashion? Crank up the presses at Treasury and run off ole struggling Detroit a couple a billion dollars or so.That should do the trick. shouldn't it.Yeah right! How can the most passive of us witness such tell-tale signs of pending calamity and suspect there is light at the end of this liberal Democrat tunnel. The lingering death of our socialism preferences has ensued! Are we stupid or what!

The Tragedy of Trayvon Martin

When are we going to realize for some, racism is a thriving "business" in the United States. Taking full advantage of our diverse ethnicity, racist trade on our differences to promote dissension, ferment biases and prejudices for their financial, social and/or political gain! What purpose do organizations of race or color membership specificity have, other than to  promote separation, division; gain rewards in that separation and division? And who gets the most ink, the most media network attention, the most notoriety? The most radical of course! I'm not saying the oppressed should not unite to be better seen and heard in light of blatant injustice, but not trumped up opportunities to propagandize, to foster unrest and violence for the expressed purpose of perpetuating unrest and violence, for perpetuating bigotry and prejudices for their own gain. Who does that? We all know who; while we for the most part stand silent for fear of being labeled racist our selves  Odd they have no fear of being so labeled. Why is it we shuffle our feet, divert our eyes, fall silent in awkwardness? Most of us, certainly most of our parents before us had/have experienced prejudices for one reason or another in our collective life times, but here we are, as a whole none the worst for wear. We have survived, some even thrived on the adversity-, of course others have fallen by the wayside, but as American's we have moved on. We don't need to hear a constant din of past  social injustices even atrocities; of present and future accommodations to remind us of what we have overcome. Shame on those who want to make the tragic death of a teenager a race issue when it was not.You so called religious and government leaders alike who misrepresented the circumstances to fan the flames of racial unrest are despicable. You've done it before and no doubt, if afforded the opportunity will do it again. You have no scrupulous, no moral compass!

A Pause That Didn't Refresh

I had hoped if I just took a deep breath, stepped back a bit from this whole chain of troubling events; be a little less spontaneous in my reactions, take the time to be more analytical in my appraisal of what has happen/didn't happen, I would be able to gather my wits about me and make better sense out of the circumstances surrounding these national and international debacles of ours. It's not going to happen people! To me it is what it is, no matter how much time I put into analysis. I still conclude our government has run amuck! If anything I grow more convinced than ever-, you, me, the whole damn country is going to hell in a bushel basket! What we see, "they" don't see! What we know as fact, they see as fiction! What we understand to be imminent, they see as eventual! What we see as inviolable, they see as vulnerable! "We", "they" are miles apart-, if there is any middle ground it's infinitesimal in the grand scheme of things. And I can't see any opportunity for compromise either. We are diametrically opposed to each other on near every issue of real consequence. The special interest groups of our society are so adamant, so organized, so viral in their demands for affirmative action in  their behalf; our liberal Democrat led government so willing to accommodate them disproportionately to the means and sensibilities of our middle class undemanding private sector working stiffs-, the die is cast! And this morass extends to our international psyche as well:  we are being told we are no longer to be thought of as exceptional, as the leader of the free world, but rather just one of many among the community of nations; choosing to lead from behind, if to lead at all; limping along in a socioeconomic stupor of our own making.Yes along the way we might manage to make a point or two, win a debate, even an election from time to time, but in the final analysis the deck appears to be stacked against us. Apparently there are just more of them than there are of us, they have amassed an irresistible force! Once again I find my self ready to throw in the towel. My patients grows thin waiting to see some evidence of an American revival, some semblance of a Patrick Henry 1775 spirit. Someone espousing in do many words: Give me back my America of old or give me death!  He (Patrick Henry) advised in his day, we are engaged in a great and arduous struggle for independence, today we are again engaged in a  great and arduous struggle, now for the preservation of that America he held so dear, that America that assured us in it's Bill of Rights: Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. So where is our Patrick Henry conviction, his passion for this 2013 struggle of ours, for America's very survival!

Dr Ben Carson's analogy of our government's status says it all.., like so many of we undisciplined humans it has grow chronically obese, obese to the point it can't get out of it's own way. It's insatiable appetite so ravenous, nothing is beyond it's excessive self indulgence for yet greater sustenance (revenues), greater control of that sustenance's source (we the people). Nothing short of a  drastic diet and extensive surgical intervention (cost cutting) has any potential to stifle it's gorging on our tax dollars. No question government, an efficient limited government is required and mandated to fulfill the essential federal functions prescribed by our constitution, but to the proportion and extent it is today, usurping the rights of the states and its citizenry in debilitating taxation, oppressive legislation, intimidating surveillance and fiscal irresponsibility -, tyranny pure and simple! And know, going along with Dr Carson's analogy: as much as this gluttonous administration tries to divide us on our ethnicity, their cause celebre social issue of the moment-, their shameless promotion of Socialism, in appeasing a dependent lazy citizenry with welfare and entitlements; persuading our elected politicians to legislate accordingly has created a viscous circle of means to justify a destructive end! Those citizens, those politicians are successfully changing the face of America from a nation of ambitious doers and makers to a nation of lethargic takers! Can ignorance be that uncaring, that blissful? Something to ponder this 4th of July 2013!

Venting My Frustration....

Do we really understand the psyche of this President, of this Democrat Party? In our conventional conservative thinking have we overlooked the real possibility they are out to do our country harm in maliciously fostering their own brand of a "palace takeover" a subversion of we the people, these United States of America? I tell you of late these "carrying-ons" have given me pause, the unsettling feeling that something sinister is happening. I never thought myself naive, always feeling I had a grasp of how the game is played and when, and if I was being played, but my interpretation of the rule's of the game appears to be doing me asunder. The absence of any semblance of scruples, of a baseline of common decency and honesty, has me flummoxed. Are there any rules? Worst there doesn't appear to be any desire to be more discrete, more ethical , more circumspect, more truthful. When discretion and honesty are questioned, the crassness and hyperbole is just ramped up another notch or two to lend further confusion and angst. No apology rendered, no truth check demanded. Ugly stuff this, a swamp of innuendo, deception and boorish behavior. Not only is there no discernible code of honor, a bond of common decency among men, but a prevailing sense of-, do on to others before they do unto you! Few seem to be willing to give his or her adversary the benefit of the doubt, his or her adversary the time to recant, to reconsider in retrospect before launching a retaliatory act of their own in equally harsh words and/or offensive deeds. And if one does take a step back, it is perceived as a sign of weakness, an opportunity to inflict yet greater harm and injury by the more aggressor. And to complicate our search for truth and honesty in one another, in our governance we react like mice in a labyrinth of false passageways destined to endless, fruitless and frustrating forays down thought to be paths of escape; poked and prodded in one direction or another along the way by gifted protagonist of political satire! What to believe, who to believe perplexes us in our seemingly daily challenge to ferret out the truth, in trying to find our way back to the America of our fathers, our forefathers! We appear to be in the grip of a would-be totalitarian government, that's got us by the neck and is shaking the life out of us.

Farm Bill?

If ever there was a scam being perpetrated on we the people, it is the sure to be the imminent passage of the so called Farm Bill. I forewarned you all, but a while back, look out for caveats, addendum's and tag-on legislation incorporated in bills unrelated to the bill's purported purpose and intent. At the time I was drawing your attention to emigration legislation being drawn. I for one was always under the impression the Farm Bill addressed farm subsidies, only to learn it is a depository for all sorts of potentially misappropriated funds, not the least being food stamps! And not a piddling amount to boot, some 80% of it's near one trillion dollar budget I'm told! How can that be? How can we say we've got to curb our spending, our indiscriminate welfare handouts yet abide by this slight of hand? Tell me John Boehner and the rest of you so called fiscal conservatives how can you allow that? My suspicion of all politicians grows more intense with each passing day. They count on our complacency our misplaced confidence in their judgement to do right by us, by our country, only to favor themselves and their special interest constituency in premeditated subterfuge of this sort. Only this shell game managed to distract me from the Democrats concerns in mustering the troops in support of the quintessential political hack, 38 year Massachusetts District 5 Congressman Ed Markey in his bid to replace John Kerry in the Senate. Difficult to conceive the conservatives could do worse than Senator Kerry as their Senate representative, but there you have it. Paraded before the Massachusetts electorate we've had no less than our President Barack Obama, to be followed by Vice President Joe Biden-,the piece de resistance the illustrious former President Bill Clinton. It is only gratifying to know here in the People's Republic of Massachusetts the Democrats feel so threatened that they have to pull out all the stops to thwart the aspirations of the Republicans fledgling candidate Gabriel Gomez! Do they know something we don't know?

Jefferson Wisdom

Read these circa 1776 quotes of Thomas Jefferson, and tell me Ole Tom was not light years ahead of his time. Did he not hit the nail right on the head in consideration of our circumstances this 2013. And there are those among us who dare to suggest the framers of our Constitution were not sensitive to the challenges their fledgling Republic would face in it's maturation? They knew!

"When we get piled
upon one another in large cities, as in Europe,
we shall become as corrupt as Europe."

"The democracy will cease to exist
when you take away from those
who are willing to work and give to those who would not. "

"It is incumbent on every
generation to pay its own debts as it goes.
A principle which if acted on would save
one-half the wars of the world. "

"I predict future happiness for
Americans if they can prevent the government
from wasting the labors of the people under the
pretense of taking care of them."

"My reading of history convinces me
that most bad government results from too much
government. "

"The strongest reason for the
people to retain the right to keep and bear arms
is, as a last resort, to protect themselves
against tyranny in government. "

"To compel a man to subsidize with
his taxes the propagation of ideas which he
disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical. "

............Amen to that Thomas Jefferson!
