Davos. Where the Europeans and attendees at the world economic forum were like small children, complacent in the warmth of socialism of their own making, their stagnant GDPs reliant on decades of living under the umbrella of US protection, having been allowed to suckle at the teat of US taxpayer cash, paying rent on military bases, doling out billions of dollars of aid to buy their loyalty. Their economies are benefiting from lopsided trade agreements. Now, with Trump practicing his America First policies, they act like petulant children and run to gain favor with the nearest source of cash, in this case, another superpower willing to buy their allegiance. The most glaring example of late being Canada’s PM Carney, infected with a chronic case of TDS, bending the knee to Xi and the CCP, potentially letting the fox in the henhouse on 5525 miles of common border with the US. Surely this is a case of 'better the devil you know,' especially given this administration's finite life span. China’s, not so much. They’re in it for the long haul with a goal of world domination. And speaking of which, how about Venezuela? Do you leftist nitwits think this was all about cocaine trafficking? Simpletons. Maduro was cozying up to China, allowing them to secure mineral rights and oil concessions, run their ports, and maintain a military presence on the ground, training local forces and supplying technology in our hemisphere.
Not on Trump’s watch. Where exactly does China procure the vast amount of energy to further its AI ambitions? You got it: Venezuelan oil, Russian oil, and a flotilla of ghost ships. And what has Trump done? He has seized the oil cargo and impounded the tankers, removed Maduro, and now controls Venezuelan oil production and sanctioned the crap out of Russian oil. Simultaneously putting the brakes on China’s AI ambitions, preventing more rare earth mineral acquisition, removing Chinese influence from our backyard, and, as an aside, has reduced overdose deaths in the US by 20 percent. That sounds like a win.
And why wouldn’t Trump push for ownership of Greenland? What we are currently being offered is like the dreaded triple net lease. Pay rent on military bases, pay for improvements, subsidize their welfare state, but in the end, you own nothing. Home ownership versus renting an apartment. How well has that worked out for us in Panama, where the canal, built by the US at great expense in blood and treasure, is now run by Panama and being parceled out to the CCP so they can effectively cut off our Navy’s access to unhindered, efficient movement between the Atlantic and the Pacific theaters. And the Middle East is littered with US airbases and equipment given up to the enemy. Afghanistan and Iraq are the most prominent examples of flushing taxpayer cash down the drain. And what happens when the kingdom of Denmark, population just under six million, continues to allow the Muslim invasion currently taking place? Will an Islamist Denmark in 20 years allow China to gain a foothold in Greenland to destabilize the great satan? Denmark’s ability to defend Greenland is laughable. And besides, it’s in North America, directly in the path of potential incoming ICBMs originating in Russia and bound for the eastern seaboard. Russian submarines must also pass along Greenland’s shores to prowl the Atlantic. Thawing sea ice is making passage through Arctic waterways vital for trade and military dominance. But after Denmark promised to apply funds for security, the earmarked cash ended up in social programs for the island’s 56000 welfare recipients. 56000, incidentally, is the entire population of Greenland. It’s like a bigger Puerto Rico on the rocks. With 57 times fewer people. Do we need more of that? Not really. But Trump is playing three dimensional chess while the rest of the world, and our media, is dabbling in checkers. By all reports, Trump has turned the World Economic Forum on its head and once again may be coming home with a deal.
